IATO conducts high-level meeting with Tourism & ASI officials to discuss industry issues
IATO (Indian Association of Tour Operators) met officials from Tourism Ministry and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on January 14 to discuss important issues concerning the industry. “This high-level meeting will be followed up by a meeting with the Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma. The date for the same has not been fixed yet,” shared Subhash Goyal, President, IATO. The meeting was fruitful in making the officials aware of the ground realities.
“We discussed various issues such as e-Tourist visa, Bio-metric Process at the Airport, fixing of monuments entry fee by ASI in consultation with Ministry of Tourism and IATO, guiding at Fatehpur Sikri, restrictions on wildlife viewing, negative publicity of the country, free baggage allowance by the domestic airlines, closing of rafting camps on Ganga, vacant posts at India Tourism offices overseas,” revealed Goyal.
IATO had organised ‘A Message A Day’ campaign from Jan 11-15, 2016; wherein association members send messages to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on their problems and suggesting relevant solutions. (Source-Travel Biz Monitor)
